divercity_2020 | BECOMINGLIMITLESS

International ArtCamp for young people from across Europe, Freiburg and its sister cities as part of the 900th anniversary of the city of Freiburg 2020

You are interested in arts? Looking for a creative and social exchange with an international community aged 18-25 years? You are non-german, based somewhere in Europe or live specifically in Besançon (France), Guildford (UK), Padua (Italy), Innsbruck (Austria) or Granada (Spain)? Then register now for the ArtCamp "divercity_2020 | BECOMINGLIMITLESS" in Freiburg, Germany in May 2020.

All you need besides travel costs and some pocket money is your open-minded interest in arts and creativity. We invite you to share your ideas and questions for a diverse city of the future. We offer 10 international places for this unique programme, where you get together with about 50 young people from Freiburg through creativity.

One week stay from Monday to Monday, 18th - 25th of May 2020

including 4-days ArtCamp from Thursday to Sunday, 21st - 24th of May 2020

Kubus³ Projektwerkstatt e.V., Haslacher Str. 43, 79115 Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany (Kulturpark-Area)

Four days ArtCamp with free ateliers and workshops, such as (a) theatre/acting, (b) painting/sculpture, (c) action-performance art, (d) film and (e) music within a stay of seven days including welcoming days with a socio-cultural programme (see schedule below / programme in progress). You do not need to chose your workshop in advance.

Together we create a unique open-minded atmosphere through self-conducted art making. As we focus on your wishes and ideas, we do not offer narrow predefined courses. The professionals of every discipline guide you in your very own process instead of "teaching" you art.

To get an impression, please check out the documentary of the YouthArtParkour 2019, by Julia Bernard:

Social media is part of the project. We create daily videos and visual impressions of the social exchange and artistic process – in order to show it to the world.

The registration is open now until Tuesday, 31st of March 2020. Attention please: first come, first serve. We close the registration already during this period in case the limited places are filled prior to the deadline.

Travel costs and pocket money are on you, as well as you take care of the bookings for your trip. Everything else: the programme itself, accommodation, food, entry fees and public transportation is covered by us. If you cannot afford the ticket  costs, please get in touch with us.

During your time in Freiburg, you stay in Black Forest Hostel in a dormitory (group accommodation) nearby the historic city centre of our beautiful city with a rich offer of culture and nature.

We advise you to take out insurance protection. Please check on (a) travel cancellation insurance, (b) foreign travel insurance, (c) accident insurance and (d) liability insurance.

The international ArtCamp is part of the annual project JugendKunstParkour (YouthArtsParkour) that starts in March and ends in July with a little festival. This years slogan is "BECOMINGLIMITLESS", as we invite you as international guests with your ideas and questions to join our programme as part the 900th anniversary of the city of Freiburg 2020.

The concept of participatory organisation and self-directed management of young people gives the project a special quality compared to other young arts projects. A group of young people is responsible for the programme – they develop the specific events, as well as the process is supported by professional artists and cultural educators.

Monday, 18th - Wednesday, 20th of May 2020

You get to know young people from Freiburg and their places of art and culture around the city. You visit venues, sightseeing-spots and attend cultural events such as exhibitions or concerts together.

Thursday, 21st - Sunday, 24th of May 2020

Throughout the four days of the ArtCamp, a temporary space is being developped: for being creative and making arts, having meals in community, exchange and sharing visions as well as celebrating. A beautiful backyard offers space for co-creational sculpturing, creating installations or small performances. The project-work gives focus on enjoyment and community.
